Events and sport

Nine hundred entries
in four days, and one
person answering
the same question.

Built for the shape of an event: nothing for eleven weeks, then everything at once. Waivers signed on phones at the start line, entry questions answered at midnight, and a coordinator who is not personally the enquiry queue.

In one sentence

For events and sport organisers, YDO answers entrant questions from the event’s own pages and gets waivers signed on a phone, with consent questions that cannot be skipped.

The pain

Demand arrives in a spike and leaves. Staffing does not.

Registrations open and the enquiries arrive in a week: transfers, cut-off times, categories, refunds, what happens if it rains. They are almost all the same forty questions, and they all land on the person who is also building the event.

Then the waivers. Hundreds of them, needed before anyone starts, chased by email and half of them signed on a phone in a car park anyway.

Two products, one weekend

Connect and Sign, in that order.

  • The same forty questions, answered

From your own event pages and documents: cut-offs, categories, transfers, refunds. It says so when it does not know and takes a callback rather than inventing a rule.

  • Waivers and consent, on a phone

One link, no account, signed on a phone. Consent that can’t be skipped: Yes/No pairs become required questions, so the answer is on the record.

  • Provable afterwards

A sealed certificate recording each signature with time and place, stamped to the Sydney second.

Waivers and consent forms run on YDO Sign. How the signing works

A packed field of runners at the start line of the Wellington Marathon.

For the participant

At the start line, on their phone.

  • No account, no app, no password reset at 6am in a field.

  • A closed tab costs nothing. The link reopens with their answers still there.

  • It remembers people: a returning entrant continues the same conversation.

Two race officials working on laptops at a table while runners queue behind a barrier.

For the coordinator

The spike stops being one person.

  • Sent, opened and signed on one screen, with every outstanding waiver listed.

  • Details come back on their own for returning entrants, highlighted for checking.

  • The handover is offered once and honoured, so the questions that need a human get one.

Before you go further

Worth knowing now rather than later.

It is not a registration or timing platform

No entries, no payments, no timing, no results. If that is what you need, you already have it. This answers the enquiries around it and gets the paperwork signed.

Why it holds up

Built for the week it all arrives.

  • Consent is on the record

Required Yes/No pairs, answered, not assumed.

  • A wrong email dies instantly

Correct it and the old link stops working that moment.

  • Sydney time on every certificate

    Stamped to the second.

Questions we get asked

Straight answers.

Can participants sign on their phone at the event?

Yes. One link, no account, no app, signed with a finger in the browser they already have.

Does it integrate with our registration platform?

Not out of the box. An integration with your registration platform is built as a YDO Custom project. YDO Custom

What happens to a question about a rule it does not know?

It says so and takes a callback. It will not invent a cut-off time or a refund rule.

Bring your waiver and your top ten questions.

Twenty minutes. We will run the waiver end to end and answer the ten questions on your own site.
